About Us

The Apostolic Catholic Church in America is an inclusive, multicultural, and affirming Catholic communion. We believe the sacraments of Christ belong to everyone, that the church exists for the margins as much as the center, and that authentic Catholic worship and radical inclusion are not in tension with one another. They are inseparable.

We welcome all who come to us. The divorced and remarried, the LGBTQ+ community, the marginalized, the overlooked, and anyone who has ever been told there was no place for them at the table. We hold as a foundational principle that all baptized Christians are entitled to the sacraments of Christ's church, without exception and without condition beyond the waters of baptism.

Rooted in the ancient faith, the ACCA accepts the teachings of the Seven Ecumenical Councils and the historic creeds, and holds scripture and tradition together as the foundation of the faith handed down from the apostles. We are organized with bishops, priests, and deacons serving alongside a laity recognized as a full and essential expression of ministry in its own right. We practice the seven sacraments and celebrate both Eastern and Western rites. While we are grounded in the depth and beauty of Catholic tradition, we do not use that tradition as a barrier. We meet people where they are.

Social justice is the heartbeat of our communion. It is not a recent addition to our identity. It is how we began, and it remains central to who we are. We are committed to standing with the marginalized, worshipping where people need to be met, and building communities that are sacramental without being rigid, Catholic without being controlling, and inclusive without exception.

Under the leadership of Bishop Ryan Cox, Presiding Bishop, the Apostolic Catholic Church in America continues to move forward with hope, building on a strong foundation and reaching toward the fullness of what this communion is called to be. The best of what we can be is still ahead.
